What is the difference between lithium and lead-acid batteries in electric forklifts? Which good?

As China’s forklift industry reproduces better than expected growth, all kinds of products in domestic and foreign markets have achieved excellent performance.  Among them, electric forklift accounted for a steady increase.  At the same time, in the face of increasingly severe energy situation and environmental pressure, as well as the development of new energy vehicles, lithium technology and other external conditions bring opportunities, lithium forklift is ushering in a good market opportunity. So what is the difference between lithium and lead-acid batteries in electric forklifts?  Which good?  Features are as follows:

1. Compared with lead acid, nickel-cadmium and other large batteries, lithium-ion batteries do not contain cadmium, lead, mercury and other elements that may pollute the environment. It will not produce “hydrogen evolution” phenomenon similar to lead-acid battery and corrode wire terminal and battery box when charging, , environmental protection and reliability.  The life of lithium iron phosphate battery is 5~10 years, no memory effect, no frequent replacement;

2. The same charging and discharging port, the same Anderson plug solves the major safety problem that the forklift can start when charging caused by the different charging port mode;

3. Lithium ion battery pack has intelligent lithium battery management and protection circuit -BMS, which can effectively cut off the main circuit automatically for low battery power, short circuit, overcharge, high temperature and other faults, and can be sound (buzzer) light (display) alarm, traditional lead-acid battery does not have the above functions;

4. Triple security protection.  We use between the battery, battery internal total output, total bus output three places to install intelligent monitoring and protection devices, can real-time monitoring and special conditions of the battery to cut off protection.

5. Lithium ion battery can be used as one of the many materials and equipment, integrated into the broad Internet of Things system, timely inform whether the battery needs maintenance or replacement, and automatically summarize the time of entering the factory, charge and discharge times, etc.;

6. For special industries, such as airports, large storage and logistics centers, etc., lithium ion batteries can be charged in “fast charging mode”, that is, within 1-2 hours of lunch break, the battery will be filled up to maintain the full load of Yufeng forklift vehicles, uninterrupted work;

7. Maintenance-free, automatic charging.  Since the packing of lithium ion battery, there is no need to carry out any special water infusion, regular discharge and other work, its unique constant time active active equalization technology greatly reduces the workload of field personnel and saves huge labor costs;

8. Lithium-ion batteries are only a quarter the weight and a third the size of equivalent lead-acid batteries.  As a result, the mileage of the vehicle on the same charge will increase by more than 20 percent;

9. Lithium-ion batteries have a charging efficiency of more than 97% (lead-acid batteries have an efficiency of only 80%) and no memory.  Take 500AH battery pack as an example, save more than 1000 yuan of charging cost compared with lead acid battery every year;

In fact, until now, lead-acid batteries due to low procurement costs, is still the first choice of internal logistics industry.  However, the continued improvement of lithium-ion batteries and the associated reduction in production costs are causing industry professionals to rethink.  More and more customers are relying on forklifts equipped with this advanced technology to handle their internal logistics tasks.
